Summertime in Alabama

Well, I am finally, almost, caught up! In Alabama we have tried to keep ourselves busy while Dave is in class. And when Dave isn't busy, we've had some fun as a family. On base there is a library, bowling alley, and a pool, so we've really enjoyed that, most bases have them standard. There's a theatre, but we haven't gone there yet. The ASBC program Dave is in is really family friendly. They even have a spouse's program with different activities to help keep us busy. They had a spouse's brunch, girl's night out dinners (while our husband's studied for their 2 big tests), zoo trip, river walks, playgroups, a service project, (we cut out patterns to help make clothes for wounded soldiers) they had a night with all you can bowl for the families, and next week we're going on a Trolley Tour of downtown Montgomery. Kayla and I have done some school stuff and practiced writing ABC's and 3 letter words. There's a playground in the courtyard here where we are staying. It gets pretty hot here, so we come inside after awhile to enjoy the air conditioning! Trips to the store and running errands are fun! We try to get out and keep ourselves busy. There are a few moms here, so we've had some playgroups every so often ourselves. When our kids go to bed too, we go and exercise at the Fitness Center on base (FREE!) which is good for us, and gives our husbands time to study and read.
Have you seen these? It's a stand kids can use for bowling!
I have never seen one till now! Kayla totally beat me at bowling with this!
(But that's actually not too hard to do! Ha ha!)
After a playgroup we took a stroller ride and caught this photo moment. They reached out hands to each other and held hands the whole way! Kayla loves babies. It was so cute!

(I know, more zoo pics!) At the zoo this warthog was so cute! I know, a cute warthog? But he came over to the fence and was so excited and kept wagging his little tail! Couldn't help but go, ohhhhh!

There isn't a white Siberian tiger in CO Springs. I think they are so beautiful!

Here's another animal not a the zoo in CO Springs. A Jaguar! Kayla said, "Hey! He's from the Jungle Book!"
This picture doesn't do justice to this situation. I tried the video, but it was way too big. There was a cute baby monkey that was playing with Kayla. It would hide in the corner and then crawl and hide under the glass and then pop up in front of Kayla and jump up and down to the other side and do it again. Kayla was laughing hysterically! She loved it! They played with each other for a long while! Then he would hide in the bushes and pop out again. Everyone in our group was laughing as Kayla would chase him and then scream with delight when he popped up. It made me really consider getting her a pet monkey someday....but then I thought more about it, and decided I would probably go crazy, and ended up getting a stuffed animal look alike instead!
