Road Trip to Alabama

We left Colorado on Aug. 1st. The Air Force gave us 4 days to travel to Alabama, which was really nice. We mapped out our trip and called our good friends, the Porters that we knew from Moscow, to see if we could stay with them on the way down. Yea!!! Kayla was so good in the car! And we love our new car! On road trips in our Ford, potty breaks and gas stops coincided with each other. But in our new car, because it has really good gas mileage, we would need to have a potty break but wouldn't need to get gas necessarily. That was pretty cool. We have a free XM radio trial, so we had lots to listen to.
We got to the Porters the next day and had a blast! They fed us dinner and then we checked out the local hangout where they have a smorgasbord of frozen custard items. It was really yummy, but we accidentally ordered too much. What is the name of it Heather? They had a band playing live music. (See video) Then they showed us around Edwardsville. We went to church with them the next day, had lunch and continued on to Alabama. Thank you Porters! We had fun!!!
We had a good trip over all. In Tennessee though as we were on the highway going around a rock wall we had to stop suddenly. A semi truck was on it's side. We think the accident happened right before we got there because it stunk of burned rubber and there were no police or ambulances there yet. Another tender mercy to be grateful that Heavenly Father watched over us!
A picture from our car of the semi truck, you can't see the skid marks.

Bobby's frozen custard. Yes, it's awesome. We'll take you there again in two weeks, when we see you again. :) Can't get enough custard, in our correct opinions.

Wow that is amazing how big Payson is. Yikes! He was just a little baby not that long ago.
