We’ve been waiting awhile for this! So we have actually known for awhile, and it’s been hard to not tell people, but we wanted to wait until a “safe” point to tell people. I am 13 weeks since yesterday! My due date is October 14th, so far. Yea!!!! (Next Conference time we'll have a baby soon after!)
I had an ultrasound appointment! (I had to go to the Army hospital at Fort Carson, which is a 45 minute drive! It will be the hospital where I deliver, but the rest of my appointments will be at Peterson AFB, which is nice.)
They checked the baby’s heart beat and measured. When I went in there a student nurse and technician asked me if it was okay that the student nurse was in there and if I had the time for them to find things and take lots of pictures. They needed a certain amount of pictures to submit. Um, YEAH! I had the time and it was awesome. I was in there with them a good 40 minutes. The technician was finding things and taking pictures and exploring and then the student nurse took her turn. So I had all that “face time” with our baby. It was wonderful! They showed me lots of things like the umbilical cord and placenta, and pointed lots of things out to me. It was so cool.
(Okay, here are two pictures. It was craziness trying to get them on here. I scanned them and put them on our hard drive, and blogger wouldn't let me upload them. So after trying lots of different things, I finally tried taking a picture of the ultrasound. Sorry, not very good quality, plus ultrasound pics are hard to see what's going on anyways! But I finally got them on! Yea!)
This picture is the baby from the side. You can see the head on the left, it's body and little arm, and cute little leg bent, and a foot.
I got to see the baby’s heartbeat, watch it kick me, (and I totally think I felt that kick too!) put it’s little feet against the wall of the womb and stretch out, wave, and we could even see it sucking on it’s little thumb! It was so cute! Seeing our little baby in there made it that more real to me and worth the all day sickness. It was so awesome!
I loved this picture! They got a pic of the baby sucking it's thumb. if you can tell, it's a close up of the head and you can see it's profile, forehead, nose, and the three white things are it's curled up knuckles and it's thumb is in it's mouth.

A big HUGE ginormous CONGRATS coming from our house! We are so excited for you. I'm totally there with you with the morning sickness stuff. Now that I am in my 3rd trimester, it has COME BACK! sigh.... maybe it is sympathy pains! =D If it doesn't calm down, the docs have meds that can help (they put me on Reglan, and it didn't make it all better but helped with the constant bathroom trips!)Don't be too shy to ask, It took me til 4 months to ask for some help....wish I had done it earlier! Take care of yourself, and know that it can't last forever! and again, CONGRATS!!!!!!

Okay, so Bud's reaction was this... he said that since the due date is so extremely close to his birthday (Oct. 19), that the greatest honor you could give to his friendship is to name him Justin even if it isn't a boy. :)
Oh my goodness! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm kicking myself for not checking your blog more often, but we are so stinkin' excited for you! And I just called Patti and she's thrilled for you too! I can't wait to find out what it is! And I'll keep my fingers crossed for an easy delivery!
