So my boss/commander's birthday is on April 1st. He "didn't want anyone to know" but he told the secretary how last year his old squadron wrapped everything in aluminum foil. So we had to one-up that for sure.
Me and 3 of my friends (other officers) turned his office into a golf course! We used real sod, (that was going to be used on base--and they still did, of course), we made a water trap with real goldfish $5 from walmart, a little sand trap a real golf cup and pin (from our golf course-borrowed, not stolen!), and gathered all the fake plants from all over the building. It was pretty awesome, take a look! (Behind the netting is his desk)
We are also in the middle of a month-long inspection (pretty big deal) but we weren't scheduled to be inspected (although it could happen at any time). So, we got some IG (inspector general) looking cars and parked them in the IG spot and had our group commander (my boss's boss) call him up and tell him he was getting inspected and had to get to his office ASAP. He was pretty worried when he opened the door:
