Kayla's Haircut

We finally cut her hair! We’ve only trimmed it, but it has never been this short. Summer is around the corner, and frankly her hair is a lot of work! But I do love her hair, it’s so pretty. We decided after awhile to just grow it out and do Locks of Love. We did a lot of prep with Kayla. I showed her some of the pictures of little girls with no hair and tried to explain they were sick and that was why their hair fell out. Kayla thought they didn’t have hair because they cut it off themselves, like the boys at her pre-school. Eventually I think she realized she would be doing something nice for a girl by sharing her hair.

I was really nervous at how she would react to her hair being cut. We cut off a foot of hair! During the hair cut she was very solemn, I couldn’t tell how she was feeling. But when we got in the car she smiled and said she loved it! No tears! A miracle! Good job Kayla! She looks so grown up now!
So here are some before and after shots!

She looks adorable with her little bob. What a great thing to donate to Locks of Love! When my Dad died of cancer, I felt such a need to do something for someone. Locks of Love received my 10" of hair and I received a good feeling. WTG Kayla!

WOW! I remember what a hard time you had when you cut a few inches off up in Moscow. I bet this was hard for you. I love it though! Great cut for the coming summer! I can't believe how old she is . . .

she looks so cute with her new haircut. Plus, what a great leason to teach her about giving to others. You guys are such great parents to do that.
