The North Pole

We went to the North Pole!!! It's an amusement park themed around Christmas. Dave actually had a summer job here when he was in high school! He was a ride operator, and sometimes he had to wear costumes, like a moose, bear, elf, or a girl bunny. =) He was 17 and says it was one of the funnest summer jobs he's ever had! I had gone to the North Pole a few times with friends back in the day, so Dave and I were both really excited to take Kayla. Dave was glowing remembering things and being back there again. Kayla was so excited, and she has seriously talked about the North Pole and going back again sometime everyday since! (Even though she got sick, more on that!) We went on July 2nd. The Air Force gave everyone a family day off. Wahoo! We took lots of pictures, so we actually tried to limit them for the blog. Kayla is just so cute.

Mommy and Kayla (Kayla feels so empowered!)

We went on a bunch of different rides.
Kayla was just big enough for this one and wanted to go on. Bad idea! Afterward she was flushed and pale. We asked her if she wanted to go home and she said yes! =( But we talked her into a few more things to see if she would get better.

We went to see the magic show. It had air conditioning!
It was fun and entertaining, but Kayla was still so sick! Poor Kayla!

We were about to head home, because she looked miserable and sick and wanted to go. So on the way out we went on the North Pole Express train ride.

Daddy and a sick Kayla.

After the train we were walking to the bathroom, but poor Kayla didn't make it.
She lost her breakfast right there on the side of the sidewalk. (Don't worry, we didn't get a picture of that.) But.....after that Kayla felt much better, perked right up and was ready to go have more fun! Yay!!!
This is us on the sky ride. Nice and slow.

Kayla got a flower airbrushed on her cheek.

On the carousel she picked Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Of course!

We went earlier in the morning and by this time it was late lunch.
The timing was great, because it started to pour down rain! By the time we were done, it was just barely sprinkling.

The highest because of the altitude!

Kayla and mom at the top!

Kayla and daddy went on a "mini" rollercoaster.

It was still kinda wet, but that didn't stop Kayla!
We had a ton of fun! We took Kayla to go see Santa at his "house" but we didn't get a picture. (Too expensive! Yikes.) We did other things instead.
It wasn't Disneyland, but we had a lot of fun!

***Watch this video of Kayla and Dave going down the 3 story "Peppermint Striped Slide". Everytime we watch it we crack up, maybe cause we know Kayla, and that's why it's so funny to us. (We don't know what kind of yell that is! It is definitely not her normal scream. Don't worry, she loved it!)
