We went at the end of July, in time for Pioneer Day.
There was a Pioneer Day parade. Dave's sister Soo was in it with her Boy Scout troop and their float. Isn't it awesome?! Alex is trying to get everyone to take a picture for me. We missed Soo's boys Alex and Sammy who were off to Alaska that day for a trip with their dad. We missed them. And here are Dave's parents and the girls at a breakfast in the park.

There was an open house for Jenna since she would be leaving on her mission. Dave's sister Meg had a huge plate of cream puffs, which she planted right in front of Makenna. Soo and I took pictures. I guess its okay if her aunts spoil her right? (Clancy is in the back) And if you are a Thomander, then of course there will be games. The Thomander's home is definitely "The Hub". Kayla and Taylor enjoyed playing games on Justin's phone. And on the bottom is Jannie(who you can't see) then Soo, Dave's mom, Meg, and Jenna. We had fun. You can always count on games at Gma and Gpa's house!

The Thomander family that were here got to hear Jenna's talk in her ward before she left on her mission. It was sooooo good. She talked about charity, the pure love of Christ. She did an awesome job. What an example she is for our family. Me and Dave's mom cried the whole time, almost. Except for the part where she said we should all strive to come to a point in our lives when we can say, "I love you...even though you are annoying...or I love you, even though you have a quirky personality..." That part made me smile. =) But her talk really hit home with me and was something I really needed to hear. She has a strong testimony and she is going to be a great missionary!
Here she is before leaving to head down to the Provo, MTC! And one with Gma. Jenna is Gma and Gpa's 1st grandchild to go on a mission! We are so proud of her! And here are some pics of some fun moments. Taylor and Kayla had a blast playing together. They feed Aunt Soo's chickens and ducks, and played with Hammy the hamster, and jumped on the tramp. Makenna discovered she had piggies with Gma and she LOVED Andy the cat.... just like Kayla. We had such a fun time. Me and the girls really enjoyed being with Dave's family.

This is a video of Makenna squeal/screaming while Aunt Meg was tickling her tummy. =) Good stuff.
Makenna and Kayla share a LOVE for Gma's cat Andy. Every time Makenna saw Andy she would do this really funny, cute, squeal, (which I have never heard beofe until she saw Andy) and she would and race in his direction or try to get to him if I was holding her. Andy is the best cat, he was very tolerant of Makenna. (Sorry Andy about times I didn't catch her in time from pulling your hair.) He would need to be, because he gets a lot of lovin from lots of grandkids! Thankfully I'm not too allergic to him. **Listen for Makenna snorting! It is so cute and hilarious. Makenna snorts a lot when she is happy! Its cute when they're little right? =)
