Independence Day with the Gibbons!

We spent Independence Day with Dave's sister's family, the Gibbons!  After the breakfast in the morning we headed up to Denver to spend time with them.  We had seen them in Logan, but for living so close to them we hadn't seen them as much as we would have liked!  We would be moving soon, so this would be the last time we would get to see them before moving to Florida.  Kayla really enjoyed hanging out with her cousins.  Makenna really enjoyed all the extra attention she was getting. : )  We made yummy food and brought a picnic dinner and blankets to a nearby park.  Rachel had a park in mind where we could see some awesome fireworks.  (She was right!)  We got to the park early enough to secure a spot on the grass.  The lawn soon was filled with a lot of people!  What was really cool, is that a helicopter flew into a marked off field and then in groups people got to see it up close!  I also got a pretty picture of "sunbeams" shining down.  I love sunbeams...so heavenly, it was almost as if it was a reminder from God that He was the one whose hand established America.  We ate dinner, the kids played frisbee, and Carl treated the kids to tickets for some bounce houses and games that had been set up at the park.  Later on Jessie and Carl left so they could collect flags from ward member's houses the set up for scouts.  I had a lot of fun hanging out and talking!  Makenna was restless, so I had her in the stroller tipped up on the wheels and made circles around our blankets to keep her happy and me able to talk, haha.  : )  The fireworks were awesome!  They were pretty close to us, just over in a nearby baseball field.  Rachel liked this spot especially because you could also see 2 other firework shows on either side of us!  Happy Independence Day!!!!  God bless America!  That was a lot of fun, and a cherished memory.  Thank you Gibbons Family! : )
