Air and Space Basic Course

Kathy, Kayla and I are in Montgomery Alabama at Maxwell AFB for Air and Space Basic Course. It is a general Air Force training course for all new 2nd lieutenants. It is crazy HOT down here. It is also very humid. Today it rained and we all thought, "great, now it will cool off" Nope, it just got more humid. But it has been fun.

We attend a lot of lectures but we also get in some physical training too. Today we had a lot of fun doing a type of obstacle course where 7 members of the flight (the class is split into two squadrons with about 13 flights in each, each flight has about 14 members) participated as a leader and 6 team members. We had to solve problems in 15 minutes that required stuff like climbing, balancing, tying ropes, etc.

Families are allowed to come but there are only 38 lieutenants (Lt) that brought a spouse out of about 350 total. My flight is mostly accompanied Lt's.

Yesterday we were treated to a mexican food buffet and a jousting competition (see pic). It was way fun and Kayla hammed it up busting a move in the middle of the dance floor (in front of hundreds of AF officers!) Check out the video (it was taken with my phone so, not the best quality and you can't hear the music but it was hilarious!) More to come!
