Dave and I are still technically residents of Idaho, and because of our military move. So, they sent our ballot to us in the mail, and we actually voted last week and stuck it in the mail. It was awesome!!! No waiting in line and Idaho's ballot was pretty simple. AND, they even sent me a sticker!Our blog is definitely not really political, and maybe this is the most political it will get. Who knows? But, the main thing that we wanted is if that candidate we voted for would uphold families and strengthen them, their views on abortion, adoption, marriage, and laws affecting all those issues.
In the letter from the First Presidency Sept. 11th, 2008, it says, "Therefore, in this election year, we urge you to register to vote, to study the issues and candidates carefully and prayerfully, and then to vote for and actively support those you believe will most nearly carry out your ideas of good government."
I think it interesting that they say "will most nearly carry out your ideas of good government"
Because no one is perfect, and I guess it's hard to agree 100%, it's just a matter of who will serve the best for our country, in our opinion, in our research and prayerful consideration. But we do hope and pray that the final decision will be the right one for our country. There's a lot at stake!!! But it is nice, and comforting, that we all have the right and opportunity to vote and make a difference.

AMEN!!! i am actually excited to vote this year. i have not been involved in a national election that seems to be soooooo controversial and effecting. i agree with everything you said, and look forward to the outcome. it will be a true temperature of the pulse of our nation.
