Easter AND General Conference

Kayla was pretty excited to come down the stairs to see what the Easter bunny had brought her, and find where her basket was hidden.

Dave was able to Skype! We haven't been able to do so very much, only a handful of times while he has been in Afghanistan, so it was very special. He got to see what Kayla got from the Easter Bunny and see Makenna and Kayla. Makenna was so cute. I really think she recognizes Dave, she was trying to reach for him. She was putting out her arms and leaning in towards the computer and trying to touch the screen. I made me kind of teary, it was a sweet moment.

Later we got ready for General Conference. I got the computer all hooked up and we watched it on the TV. Thanks go to Dave for letting me know again how to do it! Your the best hon! (I am so happy we got to talk to you in the morning! That was awesome! It was so good to see you!) Michael, Ruth, and Jacob came over to watch and celebrate Easter. We busted out snacks and food to munch on. We put a sheet, folded in half, in front of the couch for Makenna, and she would scoot down one end, and then we would turn her around so she could scoot down the other end. It was funny.

My mom has this folding table, that is low, so we put this in front of the couch too and Kayla and Jacob sat at one end and did busy activities. They did Bingo, made Fruit Loop necklaces and then ate them. (I made the strings long, and so that activity lasted almost the whole morning session! ) They drew, and Ruth had gotten some masks they painted, and my mom had gotten some stickers and foamy things for pictures. So they kept busy and were pretty good for both sessions of Conference. Yay!

Between sessions Jacob and Kayla played with toys and went outside. It was a sunny beautiful day! We girls got things prepared for dinner. Ruth made a prime rib! It was really good! We also had these Easter egg kits from Dave's sister Rachel we used. Ruth had brought some dyed eggs they had done and the kids decorated them. We all did, it was fun. We had boiled some eggs, but not dyed them, so Ruth made some deviled eggs that were yummy.

The prime rib Ruth made was soooo good! I have never made it before, so it was cool to see how she prepared it. Dinner was very yummy.

Our "bunny biscuits".
After dinner Michael "helped" the Easter Bunny out by hiding some eggs he left for the kids. He hid the eggs outside in the backyard. The kids had a blast!

I wanted to get a cute picture of Makenna with the bunny ears on, and this was the best one we could get! She is hilarious! Happy Easter everyone! Happy Easter Dave! I/we, can't wait till next year when we will be together for all the holidays! We missed you and were thinking about you!
